At Louisiana Blue, the Generation Blue Intern Program is more than just an internship. It's rooted in the mission to support talent acquisition through meaningful experiences. Generation Blue offers students the chance to work on real-world projects, receive mentorship, and build lasting professional relationships. Interns gain hands-on skills that go beyond the classroom while contributing fresh perspectives and energy to the teams. Key Components of the Internship Experience
Mentorship: Interns regularly meet with their managers for one-on-ones as well as with other members of their cohort.
Intern Workshops: The Learning and Development team, along with the Workforce Development team, developed the intern workshops to focus on building professional and interpersonal skills like Accountability, Time Management, Communication, and the “Brand You Series.”
Executive Presentations: At the end of each cohort, interns get to share with each other, their departments, and the leadership team the work that they have been doing and contributing to over the semester.
Talent in Action: The Talent Sourcing & Programs team, along with Talent Acquisition Partners and Talent Ambassadors, seek out a variety of opportunities to source talent. Whether it is at a four-year university, a Chamber of Commerce event for high schoolers, or a community outreach event, they enjoy sharing their experiences at Louisiana Blue with everyone they meet.
Talent Ambassadors like Lydia Bowie, Erin Smith, and Missy Judice attend career fairs, introducing Louisiana Blue to high schoolers looking for career opportunities. Every spring, summer, and fall, all interns come together to hear from a member of the Senior Management Team.
The Talent Sourcing and Programs team facilitates resume workshops for students. The 2024 Talent Ambassadors will be coming to a career outreach event near you! Be on the lookout for the team.
