Market Regulation Internship

CME Group is currently looking for a Market Regulation Intern. This candidate will assist the Data Investigations Team on day-to-day activities. The Data Investigations Team is part of CME Group Market Regulation Department and mandated by the CFTC to conduct annual registration, audit trail and recordkeeping reviews of Clearing Member Firms as well as receiving and assessing daily CFTC-required reports from Market Participants. Data Investigations focuses on maintaining the highest level of completeness and accuracy for the key data elements essential to market surveillance and market rules enforcement, ensuring the foundational data used for organizational decision-making and rule violation detection is properly managed within a complex regulatory environment.

The Data Investigations Summer Internship program is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven individual to join our team. Technology Internship Program

CME Group’s Technology Internship Program offers students opportunities to learn more about our enterprise and business, our role in the financial industry, and the types of technology that keep our markets running. Students will develop both their technical skills and expand their network with access to industry experts, while working alongside other talented and ambitious students with a passion for FinTech.

These summer internships are paid, full-time roles that typically last 10-12 weeks. They are hybrid roles, typically based out of our Chicago office. The summer program includes numerous opportunities to network with peers from across the country during a summer full of experiences such as excursions to enjoy Chicago traditions, trading and coding challenges with prizes, lunch and learn speaker series, and other opportunities for professional development.

Qualified candidates will be invited to complete a coding pre-assessment. If selected to advance, candidates may be invited to virtual coding, design, and behavioral interviews. Interns will have the opportunity to work on a variety of applications and projects that directly impact the global trading ecosystem. In the past, our interns have worked on building cloud infrastructure, researching blockchain technologies, and taking ownership of new applications that can change the trading lifecycle. Interns are likely to work in the areas of back-end development, cloud computing, and/or automation.
