Campus and Location

UWG is situated on a 645-acre campus located in Carrollton, Ga, approximately 45 miles southwest of Atlanta. The university also offers a satellite campus in Newnan, Georgia, select classes at its Douglasville Center, and off-campus Museum Studies classes at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, Georgia. UWG Newnan offers all Core undergraduate courses, along with undergraduate and graduate work in business, nursing, and education. Acting as a small community within the larger UWG community, the Greek Village features 18 houses ranging in size. These houses are complete with a living and or chapter room, kitchen, laundry facilities, a mix of single and double bedrooms, and semi-private bathrooms. Also included within the village are outdoor green spaces, adequate parking, and a commons building. Additionally, within the Greek system at UWG, there are three different governing councils: Panhellenic, Interfraternity, and National Pan-Hellenic.

Athletics

The athletics program fields men's intercollegiate teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, and golf and women's teams in basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track, indoor volleyball, and competition cheerleading. All intercollegiate sports are affiliated with NCAA Division I as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). The football team plays in the United Athletic Conference (UAC), currently a football-only alliance between the ASUN and Western Athletic Conference (WAC). In the future, the UAC will become an all-sports conference as a rebranded WAC, with West Georgia joining the expanded UAC.
