Endicott College Application Requirements: A Comprehensive Guide
Endicott College, known for its stunning oceanfront campus and commitment to experiential learning, attracts a diverse pool of applicants each year. Understanding the college's admission requirements is crucial for prospective students seeking to join the Endicott community. This article provides a detailed overview of the application process, academic expectations, and other factors considered by the Admission Committee.
Holistic Admission Approach
Endicott College employs a holistic admission process, meaning the Admission Committee considers the whole applicant. While academic credentials, particularly the high school transcript, carry significant weight, the college also values extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and unique learning experiences. Endicott seeks students who will be outstanding citizens of the Endicott community, contributing their talents and perspectives to enrich the campus environment.
Academic Requirements
A strong academic record is a fundamental aspect of a successful Endicott College application.
GPA
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for admission consideration. However, the GPA that really matters is the GPA you need for a real chance of getting in. Successful applicants typically have a mix of A's and B's, with more A's than B's. The school average is 3.64. Applicants can compensate for a lower GPA with harder classes, like AP or IB classes.
Coursework
Applicants must receive a C or better in all high school science courses. While Endicott doesn't explicitly require or recommend specific college preparatory courses, a rigorous curriculum demonstrates a student's preparedness for the academic demands of college.

Standardized Tests (Optional)
Endicott College has a test-optional policy. Applicants will not be penalized by not submitting scores in the admission review process, however greater emphasis will be placed on the other academic areas of their application. If an applicant submits scores, test scores can be sent directly from ETS (code 3369) or ACT (code 1824). There may be a delay in recording test scores if you choose not to provide your Social Security number to the testing service.
SAT
Endicott College hasn't explicitly named a policy on SAT/ACT requirements, but because it's published average SAT or ACT scores (we'll cover this next), it's likely test flexible. Typically, these schools say, "if you feel your SAT or ACT score represents you well as a student, submit them. Despite this policy, the truth is that most students still take the SAT or ACT, and most applicants to Endicott College will submit their scores. If you don't submit scores, you'll have one fewer dimension to show that you're worthy of being admitted, compared to other students. The 25th percentile SAT score is 1130, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1280.
ACT
The average ACT score at Endicott College is 26. The 25th percentile ACT score is 24, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 29.
SAT Essay/ACT Writing Section
Endicott College considers the SAT Essay/ACT Writing section optional and may not include it as part of their admissions consideration.
Non-Academic Factors
Beyond academics, Endicott College seeks students who demonstrate strong character, leadership potential, and a commitment to community engagement.

Recommendations
Recommendations are considered important for admissions officials at Endicott College. A letter of recommendation is part of the Application Checklist.
Essay
The student essay is a key component of the application. The Admission Review Committee looks at the application and the student essay. Applicants must submit their application, essay and fee by Admission Deadline date and all supporting documents (transcripts, recommendations, etc.) must be submitted by the Document Deadline date.
Portfolio (for Art, Design, and Photography Majors)
Students planning to major in art, design, or photography programs are encouraged to submit a portfolio of their work for review by the School of Visual and Performing Arts. All portfolios should be submitted through Slideroom. Upon receipt of the portfolio, the Dean, Department Chair, and appropriate faculty will review the work. The portfolio evaluation will be considered as a component of the admission review in addition to the student’s academic record, recommendations, extra-curricular activities and the student essay.
