Premier Scholarship
This premier scholarship opportunity is afforded to Latino students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who plan to continue contributing in the future. There is no GPA or major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
CHCI's Postgraduate Fellowship Program
CHCI’s Postgraduate Fellowship Program is designed to offer emerging Latino leaders and individuals deeply committed to the Latino community the opportunity to draw connections between their graduate field of study and public policy.

As a CHCI Postgraduate Fellow, you will immerse yourself in the legislative process, spending four days each week learning all facets of public policy. Once a week, you will join the Fellowship cohort for a full day of leadership development centered on CHCI’s four Pillars of Leadership-Self Discovery, Transformation through Collective Power, Rooted in my Strength, and Planting Seeds for Tomorrow. Weekly programming will refine your leadership abilities, affirm your career goals and area of focus, and allow you to spend time discussing policy issues of national concern. You will gain experience proposing effective policy solutions by critically examining all sides and implications of these issues. Over the course of nine months, Postgraduate Fellows will receive a gross stipend amount of $40,950.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Fellowship Program
Every year, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Fellowship Program offers up to 20 promising Latinos from across the country the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the national level in the public policy area of their choice. Fellows have the opportunity to work in areas such as international affairs, economic development, education policy, housing, or local government.
Applicants should have graduated from a college or university (with a BA/BS degree) within one year of the application deadline, or be currently enrolled as graduate students. Applicants must also have high academic achievements with 3.0 GPA or higher, evidence of leadership potential, consistent active participation in activities for the common good, and superior analytical and communication skills (oral and written). The application deadlines for this award are in mid-November for the spring session, early February for the summer session, and late April for the fall session.
CHCI-United Health Foundation (UHF) Scholar Intern Program
The CHCI-United Health Foundation (UHF) Scholar Intern Program helps students pursuing health-related careers receive scholarship funds as well as hands-on experience through a paid internship at a community-based health organization. Students continue to receive disbursements each semester as long as they maintain full-time enrollment and good academic standing. Please note, students must maintain a major related to the pursuit of a primary health care career. Students must be enrolled full time and working towards their undergraduate degree in the academic period before participation. Summer Program: Must be enrolled full time during Spring. Fall Program: Must be enrolled full time during Spring OR Summer (Summer enrollment not required). Community college individuals graduating in June are eligible for the summer session if they are transferring to a 4-year institution come the Fall semester.

The Competitive Selection Process
The selection process for CHCI scholarships is highly competitive. CHCI receives at least 15 applications for every one available summer internship opportunity and five applications for every one available fall internship opportunity. CHCI processes applications to identify the most qualified candidates. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee composed by Alumni, Board of Directors and CHCI staff.
