Navigating to Hofstra University: Addresses, Directions, and Key Locations

Main Address and Directions to the Office of Admission
Hofstra University is located on both sides of Hempstead Turnpike (Route 24 West). The physical address may vary depending on the specific location you are trying to reach on campus. Please be aware, this address will take you to the Western entrance of campus, and your location may be on either the North or South campus.
Directions from the Meadowbrook Parkway:
- From Exit M4 of the Meadowbrook Parkway, you will be on Route 24 West (Hempstead Turnpike).
- Stay on 24W for about one mile. Pass the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
- Hofstra University is on both sides of Hempstead Turnpike. You will see three overhead walkways.
- For the North Campus Main Entrance, make the first right after the first overhead walkway.
- For the Admission Center, make a left at the light just after the second walkway.
- The Office of Admission is in Bernon Hall, the first building on your left as you enter the parking lot.
Detailed Directions from Various Locations:
- From the Queens Midtown Tunnel: Continue on the Long Island Expressway (I-495) East to exit 38, Northern State Parkway East, to the Meadowbrook Parkway South (exit 31A). Stay on the Meadowbrook Parkway until exit M4 (sign reads "Hempstead" and "Coliseum").
- From the N.J. Turnpike: Take the N.J. Turnpike to exit 13. Follow Route 278 to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Take the left exit off the bridge onto the Belt Parkway East. Take that to exit 25A (Southern State Parkway East - the Belt Parkway splits, stay left). Take that to exit 22N (Meadowbrook Parkway North). Stay on the Meadowbrook Parkway until exit M4 (sign reads "Hempstead" and "Coliseum").
- From the New York Thruway: Take the New York Thruway over the Tappan Zee Bridge to the Cross Westchester Expressway (Interstate 287). Stay on the Expressway to the New England Thruway. Proceed south to the New England Thruway (Interstate 95) and take this to the Throgs Neck Bridge. Take the Northern State Parkway West, to the Meadowbrook Parkway South (exit 31A) or take the Southern State Parkway West to the Meadowbrook Parkway North (exit 22N). Stay on the Meadowbrook Parkway until exit M4 (sign reads "Hempstead" and "Coliseum").
- From John F. Kennedy International Airport: Take the Belt Parkway East to exit 25A (Southern State Parkway East). Take that to exit 22N (Meadowbrook Parkway North). Stay on the Meadowbrook Parkway until exit M4.
- From LaGuardia Airport: Take the Grand Central Parkway East - this will become the Northern State Parkway East. Follow this to exit 31A (Meadowbrook Parkway South). Take Veterans Memorial Highway South to Sunrise Highway West to the Southern State Parkway West to exit 22N. Then take Meadowbrook Parkway North to exit M4.
- Alternate Route: Make a right onto Glen Cove Road. From exit M4 of the Meadowbrook Parkway you will be on Route 24 West (Hempstead Turnpike). Stay on 24W for about one mile. Pass the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Hofstra University is on both sides of Hempstead Turnpike. You will see three overhead walkways.
Package Delivery Information
For students living on campus, understanding how to receive packages is essential. Hofstra University provides several options for package delivery:
- Post Office: If your package is being delivered by UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc., it will be delivered to the post office located on the lower level of the bookstore. Residents will need their Hofstra ID to pick up packages.
- Amazon Locker ("Cria"): If you are ordering items through Amazon, you have the option of using the on-campus Amazon Locker for pickup of your package. The locker is located on the lower level of the Student Center between the Pride Den and the Game Room. When you are ordering your items through Amazon, select "Cria" as the delivery address.
- Important Note: Based on availability of lockers and the size of your item(s), the Amazon Locker may not be available for use. During peak times, the Locker may be unavailable due to capacity. The Locker will appear greyed-out during check-out; this means the Locker has no available slots to receive your package. Manually adding the Locker as the shipping address will not equate to a Locker delivery.
- Resident Assistant Office: Packages may also be delivered to the Resident Assistant Office. According to the tracking information for my package, it should have been delivered.
