3. Direct Request from the Institution

Many universities prefer to handle transcript requests internally. For example, The University of Iowa does not participate in an outside e-transcript service like Credential Solutions, Parchment, or National Student Clearinghouse. They produce their official transcripts in-house. You cannot attach a form to an electronic transcript request, but you may add your application ID to the recipient field when ordering. You may order a paper transcript using MyUI. You can upload any form that needs to be included with your paper transcript.

For records maintained by the Office, you can request transcripts online. There is a $15 fee charged per transaction, and you can order up to 5 copies per transaction. This request process IS NOT for closed high school records.

Electronic vs. Paper Transcripts

OfficialAn official transcript is the University's certified statement of your academic record. The official paper transcript is printed on security sensitive paper and contains the University seal and signature of the University Registrar. The official electronic transcript is a PDF secured by a digital certificate which is displayed at the top of the transcript along with a red ribbon. For your protection, we will not release an official transcript without your signature.
