For example, Winters & Yonker P.A. requires a 750-word minimum - 2500-word maximum essay on the topic: What traits do you have that will enhance your education and future employment? Nix Patterson requires a 500-700 word essay and/or a 1-2 minute video introducing yourself, your educational and career goals, the challenges you’ve overcome, and your commitment to community service.
- Community Involvement: Demonstrated community involvement may be required.
Applicants cannot be immediate family members of current employees of the sponsoring law firm, such as Winters & Yonker P.A..

Scholarship Award Details
The scholarship award typically consists of a one-time monetary award to be applied directly toward tuition or educational expenses. For example, the $1,000 one-time scholarship award from Winters & Yonker P.A. will be sent directly to the registrar’s office of the winner’s college or university and can be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, housing, and/or books up to the Cost of Attendance. The Nix Patterson Scholarships are one-time monetary awards to be applied directly toward tuition or educational expenses.
Deadlines and Winner Announcements
Scholarship applications usually have a specific deadline. For example, Winters & Yonker P.A. requires that all written scholarship submission materials must be received by 11:59 PM EST on December 31 of the calendar year for which the scholarship was applied for. The winner will be announced on February 1 of the following calendar year and will receive a one-time award of $1,000 in one lump sum.
