The Examination Process

In order to sit for the exam, you must submit the application for licensure to the state. It must include verified education and work experience as required by the state. License Renewal and Continuing Education

After completing all the steps above, it will be time to apply through the OCILB to obtain your Ohio Plumbing License. Licensees must provide proof of insurance at this time. The policy and license must be assigned to a contracting company. Renewal Deadline: Licenses expire every year or three years. Expiration dates are listed on your license.

Continuing Education Requirements

Ohio requires each licensee to complete Continuing education prior to each renewal. Plumbing Contractors must complete 10* hours of continuing education every year.

Reciprocity Agreements

Ohio has reciprocity agreements with Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Washington and Oregon. Ohio has reciprocal agreements for plumbing contractors with South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
